Nuclear Energy

Vision and Mission

The Network is for the next generation of scientists who are enthusiastic and eager to work toward future progress and a clean environment. Scientists and engineers today face difficult challenges in efforts to develop nuclear technology to furnish future energy needs safely and efficiently.

Nuclear science plays an important role in industry: it is used in medicine, in agriculture for the processing of food, and for producing energy through the generation of electricity. The legitimate and responsible use of nuclear energy offers benefits that outweigh potential risks.

Nuclear science will continue to increase in importance in the future and investment in research and development is a high priority. It is also important to foster the innovation and creativity of young people and to strengthen their ability to manage future technological progress in the nuclear field. It is important for continued improvement in the quality of life.

Part of the mission of the Slovenian Young Generation Network is to raise awareness and promote the education of engineers and technicians at all levels. The Network seeks to ensure the adequate transfer of knowledge and skill through quality instruction and training. It seeks to forge a relationship of mutual cooperation between industry professionals, students, and the general public.

Creative and innovative atmosphere is the way to achieve results. The network encourages members to present their ideas at meetings and conferences and to work to put those ideas into practice. Together, we can work toward our mutual goals to become more efficient and effective. We will continue to be driven by a vision of the future in which we successfully apply our expertise and vast experience to solve new challenges.

The official website of the Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration features an information center for the public. The site also provides information on legislation and related documents, annual reports, and information on nuclear and radiation facilities. Much of the content is presented for public outreach and education.

The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) is the center of nuclear research in Europe. One section of the site is set aside for public access. It offers a wealth of information and educational materials for those with an interest in learning more about the potential of nuclear science for meeting future challenges. Cernland is aimed at children and features content that is both educational and entertaining.

The Office of Nuclear Energy of the United States government is part of the U.S. Department of Energy. The official website promotes the use of nuclear energy to help solve environmental and national security challenges. The site emphasizes the importance of research and development of new technology.

The Forum on Technology and Innovation is a private organization and is not affiliated with the government. The section of the website titled Nuclear Technology - A Clean Energy Alternative contains additional information and links, including links to university scholarship programs and other educational organizations.
